Let's Get This Bread

Do you ever lack motivation? Do you wish you were in shape? Wish you had some more endurance under your belt? Having a hard time reaching your goals?

If you answered yes to any of these questions you are not alone. These are common problems for almost everyone. But what distinguishes people is who has the desire to change and tackle these problems.

To start off, the hardest part of the day is getting out of bed. You're comfortable, it's warm, and you don't want to deal with the day. There's those dreading voices in your head telling you to just stay in and cancel on your responsibilities. Some of these days are harder than others but you eventually find the willpower to get up and get going. You remember your purpose and why you're doing what you're doing and sleeping in all day is not an option.
You have to go get that bread.

But, how does one achieve the bread?

I have learned these ways of life and perspectives from my coaches and personal experience that can help in breaking down mental barriers and be able to handle that daily grind.
Going for a run and working out takes a lot of time and energy. Just like getting out of bed in the morning, you need to crack that comfort. When you're comfortable, you're not pushing yourself beyond what you're capable of—leaving you stagnant. There's a starting point for everything so all you have to do is get yourself to that start line.

Moreover, you need to find your why. You're why is your purpose which is at the core of your desires and hunger. This is what can help fuel you to chase after what you want. When you have that fire, it makes every little detail you do—every practice, every performance— have meaning and worth. And with that, can bring excitement for what's to come.

Visualization is powerful as well. When you can see yourself accomplishing your goals it helps with your motivation and what it's going to take to get there. It also feeds into your why and can be a good reminder that it'll be rewarding in the end.

A big challenge is consistency. Making running and working out part of your daily routine is another battle, especially on your own. When training on your own, it's hard to push yourself compared to when you have coaches and teammates or anyone training by your side. As each day goes by, you are faced with that decision to workout or not. The beginning will most likely be hard, but once you build that routine, results will start to show for themselves.

Lastly, and most importantly, have fun! Be Positive! Approaching everything with a good attitude helps so much. It changes the game and makes the atmosphere enjoyable.

Getting out of bed and working out can be done so much easier with these factors in mind. Changing your perspective can change your life and achieve those goals. Get that motivation going and get in shape!
